Export Code (IEC) is the compulsory License or certificate which is provide by
DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce &
Industry) to the businesses who are importing or exporting goods outside or
inside from the India.
Overview
This Certificate is required by the Private Limited Company, LLP, Proprietorship, Partnership Firm who are dealing internationally, and IEC is not required for the domestic businesses. Without this certificate, Customs will not clear imports/ exports. Needed for Foreign Remittances and Payments. IEC issued for lifetime i.e., need to required to renew it.
Process
Step 1 - Visit the DGFT portal and start your IEC application.
Step 2 – Fill in business details and legal representative information.
Step 3 – Upload required documents including PAN, business proof, and bank details.
Step 4 – Submit proof of business premises for verification.
